October 2024 –
Start of studies at Mössner
We warmly welcome our new DHBW student Benjamin, who has started his dual study programme in mechatronics at the Heidenheim campus. We would also like to congratulate Jan, who has successfully completed his degree in electrical engineering/automation and is now joining our team as a PLC programmer. Congratulations, Jan, on this great success!
Jan’s bachelor’s thesis focussed on the electrical development and commissioning of a previously mechanically designed flange bearing test rig. The aim is to test the flange bearings mounted on the lower impeller of Mössner band saws after assembly in order to ensure proper operation of the band saw. The test process uses a hydraulic cylinder to simulate the forces acting on the band saw blade during operation so that the condition of the flange bearing can be assessed using pyrometers and vibration sensors. An additional housing was developed around the test stand to prevent measurement values from being falsified by draughts, for example, and to increase safety. The recorded data is collected via a PLC and can be transferred to the Mössner data acquisition system for further analysis and reporting.
We are delighted to have both Benjamin and Jan on board at Mössner and wish them both every success in their endeavours.
