July 2022 –
Mössner suit up 😎 🎓
At the beginning of July, the students’ technical work was presented at a small trade fair at TS Aalen. Two technician groups have implemented their technician work at Mössner this year.
One group optimised an existing spindle test stand.
The challenge here was to familiarise themselves with the system and solve an existing problem while at the same time integrating something new, in this case vibration analysis.
The integrated vibration analysis means that in future not only the temperature can be checked during the test sequence, but also the vibrations.
The tasks include:
🔹Restore original functional state (automatic e-mailing of test protocols/ USB storage of protocols / visualisation dashboard).
🔹Bug-fixing
🔹 Select appropriate hardware for vibration analysis
🔹Integrate vibration analysis → Carry out tests
🔹 Expand PLC programme and HMI
🔹 Extend test protocol
🔹 Expand online dashboard
🔹 Integrate evaluation unit in the control cabinet
The other group of technicians built a cocktail robot. In the first step, the robot travels on the Igus axis system to the spirits, which are then dosed based on the stored recipes. Next, the robot moves to the other ingredients, such as orange juice, and adds them. Finally, the mixing is done at a turning station by a spoon.
The robot’s axis modules are controlled via a Siemens S7 1200 PLC. This is connected to the Igus axis modules via Profinet, which then convert the values coming from the PLC into absolute positions. Furthermore, the control system monitors the fill levels of the individual ingredients and, if necessary, switches to other full bottles of the same product.
