June 2021 –
New projects with ABB robots
We received a total of five new ABB robots today. The commissioning of the robot systems and the associated plant technology will take place in the next few weeks at our plant in Eschach.
Four of the five robots will be used for the finishing of chassis parts in a foundry. They will be responsible for removing the parting burr and separating the casting systems. The deburring process is tool-guided. This means that the robots have a milling spindle on their sixth axis. Equipped with a tool changer, the most flexible deburring tasks are available with low space requirements.
The robot is equipped with a special gripping system for cutting off the casting systems. With this, it moves the workpiece along a robot band saw. Our robotic band saws are characterised by a precise cutting process and their extremely robust mechanical design. They are perfectly suited for use in foundries.
The fifth robot (not in the picture) is used by a steel wholesaler. Here it takes over handling tasks. Our bin picking system is also used here. Our associated system technology enables chamfering, centring, marking, demagnetising, palletising and commissioning.
